A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'
29th October 2006, Had look at masts and sails
Had
a close look at the rigging and noticed that there were 6 stays at the
main masthead. I realised that there were two shrouds each side and two
forestays!
The
mizzen mast is stepped on the deck and supported by four shrouds.
The
centreplate has a winch
It
lifts the centreplate with a rope.
The
top comes off the centre plate casing, as well.
One
sail is in a bag marked 'genoa' and it looks like this.
