A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'

14th November. First surprise

The black woven material turns out to be fibreglass cloth.

Scraping away the the antifouling and paint reveals that the whole hull is covered in GRP!

This explains how she got into her present state. She has rotted from the inside due to rain water until, eventually, the thin GRP covering gave way.
