A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'
15th November 2006 It just gets worse!
Started
removing the GRP skin to get to the rotten wood. There's lots of it.
Looks
like she has had standing water in her for a long time. I can follow the
water level around the boat by the rotten plywood. Most of the hardwood
seems ok.
Removed
the brass strips from the keel and those other things (I can't remember
what they are called).
I
noticed that there is a rudder guide at both ends of the rudder slot,
top and bottom. Does this meen I can put my rudder in backwards, as well.
