A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'

I used a heat gun and scraper to remove paint around the rotten areas to see what is hidden beneath and to let out the moisture

There is a lot of "gunge" under the paint. I don;t know what it is or why it is there.

This rough area of gunge covered with paint was quite smooth when I got down to the bare wood.
