A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'
1st January 2007 Removed bits and pieces
As well as stripping more paint I have removed various bits. There are pieces of wood trim around the cockpit.
Strangely, there is some GRP under some trim!
As
I will be replacing the rudder case, I needed to remove the mast step/
rudder surround.
Underneath
was a strange sight. All damp and fungus!
The
wood was still damp with a little rot.
There
is a nice bit of wood under the dark varnish.
