A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'

12th January 2007. WEST System epoxy.

My first attempt at laminating using WEST System epoxy and glass cloth. The temperature was about 10°C. I used 105 resin and 205 hardener.

I laminated three layers of 135gm/m² cloth onto plywood.

The cloth wetted out very readily.

I also applied some epoxy to a rotten piece of Iroko to see how far it will penetrate.

While I was at it I stuck a piece of good Iroko to the ply with neat epoxy.

Tomorrow I will see how it turned out.

I removed the aft end of the centreboard case. The rest will be removed when I have finished the rudder case.
