A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'
13th February 2007. Second strake and centreboard case fitting.
Finished bevelling the second strakes for a perfect fit.
Fitted
butt straps inside and out.
Used
6mm bolts.
Butt
straps. The inner 9mm ply one will be bonded inside whilst the outside
one will be removed once the resin is set.
I
braced the middle bulkhead and cut away the rest of the centreboard case.
After I have finished planking and re-inverted the hull I will remove
most of this bulkhead.
Dry
fitted centreboard case to see if it fitted. It did!
The new rear of cabin / front of cockpit bulkhead will be at the rear of the centreboard case.
Bonded
the two sides of the centreboard case and the end fillets.
