I have already fitted the second strakes. The difficult task, which I have just started, is fitting the garboard strakes. Difficult because I am laying them in the reverse order. When a wooden Drascombe is built, the garboard strake is laid first. It doesn't have to be fitted because both edges are trimmed later. Then the second strake is fitted in a similar fashion. With my repairs I have to cut the curve and bevel the edge of the garboard strake to match the existing second strake. |
