A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'
14th March 2007, Bonded starboard garboard strake and stripped spars.
Yesterday I fitted and drilled the starboard garboard strake.
Today I got up early and bonded it. I wanted to do it before the marquee heated up in the sun to give me a longer cure time.
All
finished by 10 am so I got the spars out and stripped them. The mizzen
mast...
...
and the main mast had white tops. Very traditional.
But
not any more.
